One of These Cookies is Not Like the Other...

Last night was a BIG one for us, the kids and I were able to create a Haunted Gingerbread house AND make a double batch of pumpkin shaped sugar cookies. Jack and Marin were especially helpful! I had to have a little talk with Marin prior to creating the Haunted house, to understand it WILL NOT be perfect with the help of her brother. She was a great sport and they had a great time together. While they were decorating the Haunted house, I rolled out sugar cookies and cooked them. At one point I heard the kids giggling and turned around to see:
Who's kids are these anyway??
So, the minute Jack saw the camera come out - he pulled the frosting away and said "cheese":

After we got done I ran the kids up to the tub while the cookies cooled and because they were COVERED in black and bright orange frosting. We came back down and I gave them their own bowl of frosting, 2 cookies each and a spreading knife for each of them. I started frosting the rest of the stack and looked over to my sweet children to see Jack swipe a knife full of frosting across the cookie and then lick it off. Over and over... I decided immediately, Jack was going to get BOTH of the cookies he frosted! Thus, the title "one of these cookies is not like the other".

Anyway (didn't mean to make this story so long... but it really was a LONG night) - We had a great time together and are excited for Halloween!
